Junior Church kicked off the Advent season with a fun-filled session focused on the first Advent candle and its message of hope through Christ. The children and young people explored the symbolic meaning of the Christian Ichthus fish, learning that the Greek word serves as an acronym for “Jesus Christ, God’s Son, Saviour.”
A highlight of the session was crafting fish puppets, which the children took home along with a special Advent prayer to share with their families.
One participant summed up the day’s excitement, saying, “It was great fun making the fish puppets!”
This creative and meaningful activity helped bring the message of Advent to life, encouraging the children to engage with its themes of faith and hope in a hands-on and memorable way.
Junior Church continues to offer opportunities for young people to explore Christian teachings in an engaging and supportive environment throughout the Advent season.
